Murat Alp Ülgener has 34 years of experience in financial management, corporate finance, balance-sheet management, cash-flow management, financial risk management and budgeting. He began his career in 1992 as a management trainee at Koç Holding A.Ş. and continued as a Finance Specialist in the Holding’s Finance Department, later serving as Treasury Manager at Koç Allianz Sigorta A.Ş. He then joined the founding team of Koç Finansman A.Ş., Türkiye’s first consumer finance company, where he played a key role in structuring the Finance function. He held successive positions as Finance Supervisor, Assistant Manager for Credit Marketing, and Assistant Manager for Financial Modelling and Campaign Management, and from 2004 to 2013 headed the Financial Planning and Treasury Department. In 2013 he was appointed Executive Vice President – CFO of Koç Finansman A.Ş., a role he held until August 2024, overseeing the Finance, Accounting, Budgeting & Reporting and Legal departments. Throughout his career he led a series of first-of-their-kind money and capital markets transactions in the Turkish consumer finance sector, including the first public bond offering, commercial paper issuance, syndicated loan, club loan and asset-backed securities issuance. Mr. Ülgener is a graduate of Beşiktaş Atatürk Anadolu High School and Istanbul University’s Department of Economics (English), and holds a master’s degree in International Business from Istanbul University.
